Lovely little kettle. Well made

Lovely little kettle. Well made and exactly as I hoped. It's really a one person kettle just in case anyone thinks it's bigger. But it was exactly what I expected.

We absolutely love this well

We absolutely love this well made little teapot! It’s just what we wanted. We use it to make our favorite Japanese Genmaicha Tea every morning. I know I could use it right on the gas stove, but I prefer to boil water separately in a stainless steel kettle and pour it over the tea in the strainer of the cast iron kettle. After putting the lid on and steeping it for 30 - 40 seconds (yes, seconds!), it makes 2 perfect full cups of tea. I did follow the cleaning and breaking in directions and throughly rinse it 3 times with hot water, no soap, immediately after each use. Then I dry the cast iron lid and kettle immediately. I do let the stainless steel strainer air dry. I highly recommend this authentic old world artisan crafted treasure! It will last us a lifetime.

I love my little tetsubin

I love my little tetsubin cast iron kettle. It’s hard to find iron kettles with no enamel on the inside.

I purchased the Iwachu Kettle

I purchased the Iwachu Kettle Yakisuke a little over a month ago. I've owned dozens of teapots and tea kettles over the years, including Iwachu brand tea kettles, and was excited to add this item to my collection. After less than half a dozen uses, I noticed an orange residue in my tea. A number of orange, rust colored spots also started to form all over the tea kettle lid, the base of the tea kettle, and around the spout. I have no idea what sort of material/chemical is leaking into my tea, but I no longer feel it is safe to use. I dry the tea kettle thoroughly after each use (after it cools), and was shocked when I began to see the discoloration and residue in the tea kettle.

I was even more shocked when I reached out to the shop owner (Fabien) and was met with complete apathy. The owner basically called me a liar, saying that I didn't dry the product after each use (even though I clearly did, and said as much in my email). He offered no refund, no exchange, no solution to the problem. I am a first time customer who spent over $200 at the store, and this is the level of customer service and mistreatment I experienced.

Please stay away from this vendor at all costs.
