in short

  • New customs rule: All U.S.-bound parcels from Japan are now subject to a 15% customs tax plus a carrier commission, payable by the recipient.
  • All-inclusive prices: At checkout, you’ll see the final cost — no extra fees at delivery.
  • Shipping update: Japan Post has suspended U.S. shipments. We use reliable carriers instead, though costs are slightly higher.
  • Our promise: Transparent pricing and worry-free shopping remain our priority.

Dear Friends,

All parcels entering the U.S. from Japan are now charged a 15% customs tax plus a carrier commission, collected from the recipient upon delivery.

This sudden shift has caused many postal services, including Japan Post, to stop sending parcels to the U.S. because USPS cannot process these new payments. To ensure that you can still receive your favorite Japanese goods, we are switching to reliable alternative carriers. While this keeps deliveries smooth, it also means shipping costs will rise slightly.

What we’re doing for you

We understand how frustrating surprise fees can be. That’s why we’ve introduced all-inclusive pricing. The price shown at checkout is the total you will pay — your parcel will arrive at your door with no extra charges, just as it always has.

Our promise

At Akazuki, transparency is a core value. We want you to shop with confidence, knowing there will be no hidden costs. If you have any questions about these changes, we encourage you to reach out.

We deeply appreciate your loyalty and support as we adjust to these new regulations together.

With gratitude,
The Japanese  cookware Team
